This role focuses on synthesizing and enriching technical accomplishments, AI exploration efforts, and engineering productivity highlights for executive-level audiences, without requiring live interactions with development teams.
Key Responsibilities:
● Partner closely with the Chief of Staff to analyze and refine materials provided by engineering teams into impactful, c-level narratives.
● Enhance existing updates by adding technical context, strategic framing, and measurable business impact to align with CIO and VP priorities.
● Create succinct and visually compelling executive communication materials, such as presentations, briefs, and reports.
● Maintain an external perspective to ensure all content reflects industry-leading innovation and aligns with organizational strategy.
● Develop frameworks and templates to streamline the process of transforming technical updates into executive-ready deliverables.
Desired Skills & Experience:
1. Technical Product Management or Engineering Experience
● Product Development Insight: Experience in product management or working closely with development teams, understanding the lifecycle of technical projects, from ideation through execution.
● Engineering Knowledge: A solid understanding of technical concepts, especially in software development, AI/ML, or other relevant technology domains. This experience will help them effectively synthesize complex information and frame it for a non-technical audience.
2. Executive Communication Experience
● C-level Reporting: Experience crafting high-level summaries and executive presentations for senior leaders, including c-level executives (e.g., CIO, VP), with a focus on clarity, impact, and strategic messaging.
● Strategic Messaging: The ability to shape key technical messages around business outcomes, aligning with organizational goals and showing the value of engineering efforts. They should have experience tailoring messaging to meet the interests and needs of senior leaders.
3. Technical Writing or Communications
● Technical Content Simplification: A strong background in taking highly technical content and distilling it into clear, engaging, and accessible formats for broader audiences. This may include reports, executive summaries, or high-level presentations.
● Visual Communication: Proficiency in using visual storytelling (charts, graphs, and other visual aids) to make complex topics easier to understand at an executive level.
4. Project Management and Organizational Strategy
● Collaboration without Direct Interaction: Ability to work independently and manage projects without requiring daily interaction with technical teams. They should be adept at taking existing content, refining it, and enriching it with minimal direct communication with the developers.
● Stakeholder Management: Experience in gathering information from various sources (engineering, product management, etc.) and synthesizing it into cohesive communication that reflects strategic goals.
5. AI/ML or Related Technical Knowledge (Preferred)
● AI/ML Experience: Familiarity with AI and machine learning technologies would be beneficial, as the role will likely involve synthesizing updates on AI exploration efforts and engineering productivity related to these technologies.
● Tech Trend Awareness: A general understanding of current technology trends and how they apply to business strategy, helping them tie technical accomplishments to strategic business outcomes.
6. Business Acumen
● Outcome-Oriented: Understanding how technical achievements align with business goals and being able to frame them in terms that matter to senior business stakeholders.
● Market Awareness: The ability to connect engineering work with industry trends and competitive positioning, demonstrating a strong understanding of how technical work impacts the broader business environment.
