🌟 About the Role

We are looking for an Accounting Analyst to join the Controllership team for our client, a leading real estate company based in New York. This position reports to the Senior Accounting Manager of the Development Marketing Group.

The primary responsibility is managing the daily activities of new development projects, including processing billings, deposits, commission payments, and managing compliance, accounting, and reporting. You will work closely with operational, legal, and accounting teams, agents, and landlords.

  • Review complex agreements to ensure proper accounting treatment.
  • Process project billings, deposits, and commission payments.
  • Maintain detailed revenue and expense schedules.
  • Prepare accounting entries and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team on reconciliations and analytics.
  • Support operational teams, agents, landlords, and legal/accounting departments.
  • Create and distribute internal reports for executive management.
  • Drive process improvements and standardize procedures across markets.
  • Ensure effective controls and coordinate external audits.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects and additional tasks as needed.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required); CPA (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Residential real estate knowledge (preferred).
    • Strong project management and attention to detail.
    • High proficiency in Excel.
    • Experience with NetSuite (a plus).
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Outstanding customer service and collaboration skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
